Impact

1. Designed a web platform that turns 250 billion Medicare claims into a clear health history and a view of each person’s relative risk for common acute conditions.
2. The product launched and started the company, which later moved on to more complex clinical products.

What I designed

1. A full health history in one place, with conditions, medications, procedures, providers, tests and visits on a timeline, on desktop and mobile.
2. Health insights that compare a person’s risk of conditions such as heart failure, stroke and diabetes with the average for their age, and show the main risk factors.
3. Separate onboarding for Medicare members, who connect their own records, and for caregivers, who invite a loved one to connect theirs.

How I worked

1. Built personas and user stories from stakeholder interviews and conversations with medical experts, then mapped the user flows.
2. Designed around seniors and their caregivers: large type and controls, no medical jargon, and plain statements about how their data is used.
