Guided search
Every search is kept with its query, status, source and article count. A new one can start from a question, a query or imported citations.
Design focus
Lower the barrier to a good query
Many early users struggled to write a good query. Starting from a question sits beside writing one, so nobody has to begin with syntax.
Highlights
Impact
- Cut scientific literature screening time by 50% by bringing article information and screening decisions into one clear workflow.
- The platform had grown hard to navigate as features were added. Restructured 10+ navigation options into the four stages of a literature review (Protocol, First Pass Screening, Full-Text Review and Reports), so researchers can move through an iterative review with ease.
What I designed
- Guided and advanced search, so researchers can build precise queries with step-by-step help or full control.
- Full-text review and evidence comparison, where extracted data is easier to evaluate and every finding stays linked to its source article.
- AI assistance in search, screening and evidence extraction, with reviewable results and approval steps that keep researchers in control.
- A shared reference library with dynamic lists and AI-powered search, so teams reuse literature across projects.
How I worked
- Led product design from February to July 2026, working directly with the CEO, product manager and engineers to turn complex research needs into practical product decisions.
- Established reusable design patterns and a design system, keeping the product consistent as it continues to grow.
